Everyday Nigerian Boy

By Baron Okon 7 months ago

All we do is memorize the national anthem while they are busy struggling for royal didame                                                                we are  the leaders of tomorrow.                     Same sermon preached to my parent at thier youth                                                            we have worked out fat bodies to sinewy    and our strength gone weary                          we have helped them bury our dignity          By making them look like our divinity            this is not a dour but a demur                        we don't want to transfer this melancholy to our children                                                        just as our fathers did to us                            we are tired of being everyday Nigerian boy with tainted hope
